Big Game Hunting in the Caprivi
Bwabwata National Park (Buffalo Hunting Concession) – Big Game Area
Big Game hunting takes place in the Buffalo Hunting Concession is inside the Bwabwata National Park, previously known as the Caprivi Game Park. The concession is an unfenced area of 280000 ha (700 000 acres). It stretches from the eastern banks of the Okavango river 60 miles to the east.
The concessions Northern boundary is the border between Namibia and Angola, bordering the Luiana game park. The Southern boundary is the border between Namibia and Botswana, bordering the upper Okavango delta.
Hundreds of elephants roam this area throughout the year and buffalo herds of up to 1000 can be seen on the floodplains. Big sable and roan trophies are also easy to find. Leopards sightings during the day are common. Hippos and crocodiles can be seen daily.
One of our clients shot an elephant bull in this area with the longest tusk measured in Namibia, 7 and a half feet. Another client shot a buffalo with a spread of 47 inches in the same area.
